Please note that the hotel offers FREE parking during the day and a FREE shuttle to/from the terminals every 15 mins. It is conveniently located on the Silver line Metro station. Players can also use Washington Dulles Airport road (NO TOLL) to reach the venue.

Sections: Open 

Players of any age can play in the bughouse tournament.

Rounds: 4 rounds of double games (4DSS)

Teams will play TWO games in one round: against the same opposing team with alternating colors. Total of 2 points for every round. The maximum score for the tournament is 8.

Pairings are based on the average team ratings. Team ratings are calculated from the two players’ July 2026 standard US Chess rating.

Prize: 

Each player on the winning team gets a trophy. 

Byes: 

Limit one half-point bye. Bye must be committed 1 hr before Round 1 (2:30 PM on July 4)

Time Control: All games are G/5 

Forfeit Time: 5 minutes

This is a Non-rated event. US Chess Bughouse rules apply.

Schedule: The first round starts at 3:30 PM (immediately after scholastic/ action). Subsequent rounds occur as soon as possible.
