Round 6 - Field closes in on leader, four players could finish 1st.

With his draw in round 5 Christopher Wu's lead is now only 0.5 points. A total of four people could be in first place after round 7. If there is a tie for 1st, there will be a rapid playoff game if two people tie and a faster time control if more than two are tied.

Round 5 - Christopher Wu is alone in 1st place

All the games in round 5 of the US cadet were decisive. Christopher Wu pulled in to first place with a win over Justus Williams as Christopher Gu fell to Joshua Colas. At 4-1 Christopher Wu now has a one point lead over Aleksandr Ostrovskiy and Christopher Gu. The two Christophers will play in the last round on Tuesday at 10am.

Round 2 - The field catches up

In round 2 the two first round winners, Christopher Wu and Christopher Hu both lost. This combined with a win by Alex Ostrovskiy and a draw by David Hua, the first round losers, means that only one point separates the top from the bottom after two rounds

Round 4 - Christophers pull out in front

After four rounds in the US Cadet Championship the two Christophers have moved into clear first place. Both Chrisopher Wu and Christopher Gu are 3-1 one point ahead of the field. They both won their round 4 games and now have a one point lead on the field. Today's round is important since they are both playing opponents with scores of 1.5. If they lose the field will tighten up and if they win they could increase their lead.

Round 1 - Two Decisive Games

The 2012 started this morning at 11am in Rockville, Maryland. This first round of this very competitive tournament had two decisive games. On board 1 Christopher We defeated David Hua. David was slightly worse out of the opening and in the end Christopher's passed pawn of c6 was the decisive factor.
